SAVE Plan Deadline Calculator

About this calculator

A free, anonymous estimate. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

The SAVE plan deadline calculator is made by plusbeauxjours, a small studio that builds free, single-question tools with their sources on the page. It answers two questions for borrowers leaving the SAVE plan: when you’ll be moved to a fixed plan if you don’t choose one, and what each option would cost you a month.

Where the rules come from

Every rule is taken from Federal Student Aid’s own pages (the SAVE plan FAQ, the RAP and Tiered Standard definitions, the IDR questions) and the HHS 2026 poverty guidelines, re-read on the live pages on October 19, 2026. The full method and every source are on the calculator page.

What it is not

It is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid or any loan servicer, and it can’t see your loans. Before you choose a plan, log in to the official Repayment Calculator (opens in a new tab) on StudentAid.gov.

Your data

The calculation runs entirely in your browser. There is no login, and the page never asks for a Social Security number or loan account number. We use Google Analytics to count visits and coarse events, like which plan came out cheapest or whether a deadline is under 30 days away, never your dates, income or balance. See the privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and terms (opens in a new tab).
