Subscription audit: what you pay a year

1. Add your subscriptions. Search by name or tap a category. Not listed? Type the name and choose “Add as custom”. A good place to look is your card statement or the receipts in your email.
2. Check each price. For 35 services we prefill the list price we read on the company's own page on Oct 11, 2026 (tagged “Price as of Oct 11, 2026”). Promo, family or older plans differ, so change it to what you actually pay. Pick how often you're charged, and how many people split it.
3. Mark each one Keep, Cancel or Not sure. The receipt adds everything up, the bars show where the money goes, and the ones you mark go onto a printable cancel list with each company's own steps.
4. Pick your state to see your cancel rights and where to complain if a company makes canceling hard.

Every amount is worked out in whole cents, so the receipt always adds up exactly.

• Per year = price × charges per year ÷ people sharing. Charges per year: monthly 12, yearly 1, every 4 weeks 13, every 3 months 4, weekly 52. The result is rounded to the nearest cent (half a cent rounds up).
• Per month = per year ÷ 12, rounded to the cent. Per day = total per year ÷ 365.
• Total per year is the sum of the per-year lines, so it matches the receipt to the cent.
• Cost per use = per year ÷ (12 × uses a month). Uses per week count as × 52 ÷ 12 a month. Zero uses shows “Not used”.

“Every 4 weeks” is not the same as monthly: it's 13 charges a year. $12.00 every 4 weeks is $156.00 a year, not $144.00. Splitting $22.95 a month six ways is $45.90 a year each, about $3.83 a month. The full method, the catalog and every source are on How it works.

“Try an example” fills a typical list: Netflix Standard ($19.99 a month), Spotify Premium Individual ($12.99), Amazon Prime yearly ($139), HBO Max Standard ($18.49), iCloud+ 2 TB ($9.99), The New York Times All Access ($12 every 4 weeks) and a $24.99 gym. That's $1,332.40 a year, about $111.03 a month or $3.65 a day. Marking HBO Max and the gym “Cancel” shows $521.76 a year you could stop paying, and the gym is the biggest line at $299.88 a year.

Who bills you decides where you cancel. If an app was bought through the App Store, Apple bills you and you cancel in Apple subscriptions, even for a company with its own website. The same goes for Google Play, Amazon and phone or internet companies.

For 17 services we copied the steps from the company's own help page and checked them on Oct 11, 2026; each one links to its source. For the rest we don't guess a help link (many guessed links lead nowhere). Instead the cancel list shows the “Who bills you?” check. No federal click-to-cancel rule is in effect: the FTC's 2024 rule was struck down in July 2025. NYC's rule has been in effect since Oct 1, 2026; California and New York State have their own laws.
