Halloween Candy Calculator

About this calculator

A free rule-of-thumb estimate. Nothing you choose leaves your browser.

The Halloween candy calculator is made by plusbeauxjours, a small studio that builds free, single-question tools with their sources on the page. This one answers “how much candy should I buy?” from two things you know: what kind of street you live on and how long you'll hand out candy.

How it estimates

It combines rule-of-thumb visitor counts by neighborhood, 2 to 3 fun-size pieces per child, about 150 pieces per variety bag and an assumed bag price. For 2026 it adds a disclosed 10% guess because Halloween is on a Saturday. Every result is labeled an estimate and shown as a range. The full method and every source are on the calculator page.

What it is not

It is not official guidance from the National Retail Federation, any candy brand or your town, and it can't know your street. A neighbor who handed out candy last year is the best source there is.

Your data

The calculation runs entirely in your browser. We don't store your choices. We use Google Analytics to count visits and which neighborhood type was picked (never the hours or anything you type). See the privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and terms (opens in a new tab).
